CEM CINAR SS26: The tulip, a quiet emblem of heritage

Cem Cinar creates garments grounded in narrative, that blend inspiration from historical dress codes and his own multicultural heritage.

For Spring/Summer 2026, Cem refers to the tulip as his main incentive to direct the collection's vision. A flower with a nomadic history of its own, making its way from Ottoman gardens to Dutch fields, and now Parisian ateliers. The tulip becomes an emblem of heritage, transformation, and belonging.

Cinar processes the geometry of tulip heads and the curves of their stems into precise pleats and elongated silhouettes, translating organic movement into sculptural yet fluid garments, refined yet raw. The color palette grounds itself in black and white, contrasted by electric blues and deep reds, articulating when a bud bursts into bloom.

The collection celebrates tension and duality, being sharp yet soft, romantic yet rational. Reflecting the designer's cross-cultural narrative between Turkey, the Netherlands, and Paris. Textures tell their own story, where crisp poplins and washed denims meet sheer layers and purposely visible seams, revealing the beauty of imperfection.

In SS26 the tulip is more than a motif but a metaphor of growth and reinvention. Through this collection, Cem Cinar proclaims his place at the intersection of tradition and modernity, crafting garments that feel both timeless and modern.
